Ionsys (fentanyl iontophoretic transdermal system)

Ionsys (fentanyl hydrochloride) Patch is a narcotic (opioid) pain medicine used to treat acute pain after surgery. The brand name Ionsys is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- vomiting,
- fever,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- severe drowsiness,
- chest pain,
- dizziness,
- diarrhea
- sweating,
- agitation,
- shivering,
- slow heart rate,
- hallucinations,
- fast or pounding heartbeats,
- twitching,
- fast heart rate,
- weak or shallow breathing,
- blue colored lips,
- muscle stiffness,
- loss of coordination, and
- slow breathing with long pauses,
- difficult to wake up,
- sighing,
- breathing that stops during sleep,
- worsening tiredness or weakness,
