Felbatol (felbamate)

Felbatol (felbamate) is an anti-epileptic medication (anticonvulsant) used alone or in combination with other medications to treat seizures in adults with epilepsy. Felbatol is also used to treat children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy that also causes developmental and behavior problems, and is usually given after other seizure medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms. Felbatol is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Epilepsy .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • vomiting,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • pale skin,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • cold hands and feet,
  • agitation,
  • restlessness,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • stomach pain (upper right side),
  • dark urine, and
  • anxiety,
  • panic attacks,
  • trouble sleeping,
  • impulsive behavior,
  • irritableness,
  • hostility,
  • aggression,
  • hyperactivity (mentally or physically),
  • thoughts of self-harm,
  • mood or behavior changes,
  • depression,
  • unusual bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums),
  • purple or red spots under your skin,
  • frequent or recurring illness,
