Factrel (gonadorelin)

Factrel (gonadorelin hydrochloride) is a synthetic form of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) used to test how well the hypothalamus and pituitary glands are working. The brand name Factrel is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• headache
• nausea
• flushing
• lightheadedness
• dizziness
• skin rash, or
• abdominal discomfort
• injection site reactions (pain, swelling, or itching)

The following drugs are related to Factrel, either as a replacement or used together:

• ExEm Foam (air polymer-type a intrauterine foam)
• Fensolvi (leuprolide acetate for injectable suspension, for subcutaneous use)
