Ethiodol (ethiodized oil)

Ethiodol (ethiodized oil) Injection is a diagnostic agent used as a radio-opaque medium for hysterosalpingography and lymphography. The brand name Ethiodol is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• loss of appetite,
• yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• vomiting,
• fever,
• lightheadedness,
• dizziness,
• chest pain or tightness,
• headache,
• fainting,
• sweating,
• cough,
• little or no urination,
• anxiety,
• trouble sleeping,
• abdominal pain,
• depression,
• fast heartbeat,
• changes in your vision,
• unusual tiredness or weakness,
• bloated abdomen,
• low back or side pain,
• muscle cramps and stiffness,
• pain and fullness in the right upper abdomen,
• pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg,
• sudden shortness of breath,
• weight gain or loss, and
