Estraderm (estradiol transdermal)
type of Estrogen Derivatives
Estraderm (estradiol) Transdermal System is a form of the female hormone estrogen, used to treat certain symptoms of menopause such as dryness, burning, and itching of the vaginal area. Estraderm also reduces urgency or irritation of urination, and is used to treat ovarian disorders, infertility, and abnormal vaginal bleeding. Some estradiol skin patches are used to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis.
The drug is often used to treat Osteoporosis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- shortness of breath,
- confusion,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
- severe headache,
- blurred vision,
- pounding in your neck or ears,
- constipation,
- sweating,
- chest pain or pressure,
- nosebleed,
- muscle weakness,
- anxiety,
- sudden numbness or weakness (especially on one side of the body),
- slurred speech,
- problems with vision or balance,
- coughing up blood,
- increased thirst or urination,
- memory problems,
- sudden vision loss,
- unusual vaginal bleeding,
- sudden severe headache,
- stabbing chest pain,
- pain or warmth in one or both legs,
- unusual behavior,
- pelvic pain,
- swelling or tenderness in your stomach,
- bone pain, and
- lack of energy
- breast lump,
