Enulose (lactulose solution) is a synthetic disaccharide in solution form used to prevent and treat portal-systemic encephalopathy, including the stages of hepatic pre-coma and coma.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • vomiting, and
  • gas (flatulence),
  • abdominal distension,
  • belching,
  • abdominal discomfort such as cramping,
  • diarrhea (with excessive dosage)
The following drugs are related to Enulose, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Dulcolax (bisacodyl suppositories)
  • Lactulose Solution (lactulose solution)
  • Suflave (polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium sulfate, potassium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and sodium chloride)
