Trijardy XR (empagliflozin, linagliptin, and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets)

Trijardy XR (empagliflozin, linagliptin, and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets) is a combination of a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, and a biguanide, indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Empagliflozin is indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and established cardiovascular disease.
The drug is often used to treat Type 2 diabetes .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- itching,
- vomiting,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- tiredness,
- stomach pain,
- dizziness,
- weakness,
- trouble swallowing,
- little or no urination,
- feeling cold,
- unusual drowsiness,
- pain or burning when you urinate,
- feeling unwell,
- severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back,
- blood in your urine,
- blisters,
- rapid weight gain
- unusual muscle pain,
- feeling very thirsty,
- irregular heart rate,
- swelling in your legs or feet, and
- breakdown of the outer layer of skin,
- severe or ongoing pain in your joints,
- flaking or peeling skin,
- pain in the pelvis or back,
