Jardiance (empagliflozin tablets)
type of Antidiabetics, SGLT2 Inhibitors
Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Jardiance is also indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- fever,
- pale skin,
- shortness of breath,
- confusion,
- chills,
- low blood pressure (hypotension),
- fatigue,
- sweating,
- weakness,
- chest pain or pressure,
- little or no urination,
- increased thirst,
- fruity breath odor,
- irregular heartbeat,
- anxiety,
- extreme tiredness,
- irritability,
- decreased urination,
- hunger,
- frequent urination,
- convulsions (seizures),
- shakiness,
- vaginal discharge, and
- swelling in legs and ankles,
- pain in the lower sides of your back,
- cloudy, dark, bloody or foul-smelling urine,
- frequent and painful urination,
- pain or swelling in the genital area,
- itching and irritation in the genital area,
- burning sensation during intercourse,
- vaginal pain and soreness,
- elevated levels of LDL cholesterol
