Emgel (erythromycin)

Emgel (erythromycin) Topical Gel is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as severe acne. The brand name Emgel is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• worsening of your skin condition,
• severe burning, stinging, or redness,
• oozing or other signs of skin infection,
• severe stomach pain, and
• diarrhea that is watery or bloody (may occur months after your last dose)

• Acanya Gel (clindamycin phosphate 1.2% and benzoyl peroxide 2.5%)
• Differin Cream (adapalene cream)
• Avita (tretinoin gel)
• Clindacin P (clindamycin topical solution)
• Clindagel Topical Gel (clindamycin phosphate)
• Neuac (clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel)
• Veltin (clindamycin phosphate and tretinoin gel)
• Klaron (sodium sulfacetamide lotion)
• Polocaine Dental (mepivacaine hydrochloride injection)
• Sumaxin (sodium sulfacetamide cleansing pads)
