Vitekta (elvitegravir tablets)

Vitekta (elvitegravir) is a human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) integrase strand transfer inhibitor used in combination with an HIV protease inhibitor coadministered with ritonavir and with other antiretroviral drug(s) indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in antiretroviral treatment-experienced adults.

The drug is often used to treat HIV .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • swollen glands,
  • night sweats,
  • shortness of breath,
  • weight loss,
  • stomach pain,
  • chest pain,
  • rapid heart rate,
  • wheezing,
  • weakness,
  • mouth sores,
  • anxiety,
  • irritableness,
  • dry cough,
  • cold sores,
  • prickly feeling,
  • sores on your genital or anal area,
  • severe lower back pain,
  • loss of bladder or bowel control,
  • menstrual changes,
  • impotence, and
  • loss of interest in sex
  • difficulty speaking or swallowing,
  • problems with your balance or eye movements,
  • selling in your neck or throat (enlarged thyroid),
