Eloxatin (oxaliplatin injection)

Eloxatin (oxaliplatin) is a cancer medication used together with other cancer medications to treat colon and rectal cancer. Eloxatin is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • upper stomach pain,
  • loss of appetite,
  • itching,
  • dark urine,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • chills,
  • tiredness,
  • clay-colored stools,
  • chest pain,
  • dizziness,
  • vision problems,
  • seizure,
  • wheezing,
  • fainting,
  • sweating,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • unexplained muscle pain,
  • mouth sores,
  • eye pain,
  • fast or pounding heartbeats,
  • pain or burning when you urinate,
  • skin sores,
  • sudden chest pain or discomfort,
  • dry cough,
  • feeling very thirsty or hot,
  • being unable to urinate,
  • severe dizziness,
  • tenderness,
  • hot and dry skin,
  • heavy sweating,
  • cold hands and feet, and
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes,
  • change in mental status,
  • lightheadedness,  
  • warmth or redness in your face,
  • increased sensitivity to cold temperatures and cold objects,
  • numbness, tingling, or burning pain that interferes with daily activities,
  • severe or ongoing diarrhea or vomiting,
  • pain, redness, swelling, or skin changes where the injection was given,
  • headache with chest pain,
  • weakness with a fever,
  • jaw or chest tightness,
  • strange feeling in your tongue,
  • problems with speech or swallowing,
