Elestrin (estradiol gel)

Elestrin (estradiol gel) is a low-dose topical therapy indicated to treat moderate to severe hot flashes and night sweats associated with menopause. Generic estradiol gels are available.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• loss of appetite,
• vomiting,
• confusion,
• tiredness,
• yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
• pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder,
• constipation,
• sweating,
• chest pain or pressure,
• sudden numbness or weakness,
• slurred speech,
• coughing up blood,
• memory problems,
• sudden vision loss,
• weight loss
• increased thirst or urination, and
• unusual vaginal bleeding,
• stabbing chest pain,
• pain or warmth in one or both legs,
• unusual behavior,
• lump in your breast,
• pelvic pain,
• swelling or tenderness in your stomach,
• severe stomach pain spreading to your back,
