Symfi Lo (efavirenz, lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is a three-drug combination of a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, and two nucleo(t)side reverse transcriptase inhibitors indicated as a complete regimen for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in adult and pediatric patients weighing at least 35 kg.
The drug is often used to treat HIV .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- nausea,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- swollen glands,
- night sweats,
- weight loss,
- stomach pain,
- clay-colored stools,
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
- fluttering in your chest,
- wheezing,
- weakness,
- cough,
- unusual tiredness,
- sore throat,
- skin pain,
- menstrual changes, and
- drowsiness,
- fear,
- paranoia,
- feeling cold,
- burning in your eyes,
- red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
- severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back,
- severe dizziness,
- trouble concentrating,
- thinking problems,
- new or worsening bone pain,
- pain in your arms, legs, hands, or feet,
- cold sores,
- trouble speaking or swallowing,
- problems with balance or eye movement,
- swelling in your neck or throat (enlarged thyroid),
- impotence
- unusual muscle pain,
- prickly feeling,
- swelling around your midsection,
- sadness,
- hopeless,
- strange dreams,
- confusing,
- irregular, fast or pounding heartbeats,
- problems with your balance or coordination,
- thoughts of self-harm or harm to others,
