Duranest (etidocaine hcl) Injection is a local anesthetic agent used for infiltration anesthesia, peripheral nerve blocks (e.g., brachial plexus, intercostal, retrobulbar, ulnar, inferior alveolar), and central neural block (i.e., lumbar or caudal epidural blocks). The brand name Duranest is discontinued, but generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- rapid heart rate, and
- high or low blood pressure
