Nikki (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets)

Nikki (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets) is a birth control pill that contains two female hormones, a synthetic estrogen and a progestin, used help to lower the chances of becoming pregnant when taken as directed. They do not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases. Nikki is available as a generic.
The drug is often used to treat HIV .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- itching,
- dark urine,
- rash,
- confusion,
- fainting,
- muscle weakness,
- mood changes,
- slurred speech,
- elevated blood pressure,
- depression,
- unusual sweating,
- weakness on one side of the body,
- severe dizziness, and
- trouble breathing
- vision changes,
- coughing up blood,
- sudden dizziness,
- yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice),
- slow or irregular heartbeat,
- lack of coordination,
- sudden shortness of breath,
- lumps in the breast,
- unusual changes in vaginal bleeding (continuous spotting, sudden heavy bleeding, missed periods),
- unusual headaches,
- sudden, very severe headaches,
- partial or complete blindness,
- severe abdominal pain,
- pain, swelling, or warmth in the groin or calf,
- swelling of the face, tongue, or throat,
- suicidal thoughts,
- chest pain extending to your jaw or left arm,
- tingling, weakness, or numbness in the arms or legs,
- worsening migraines,
