Hectorol (doxercalciferol liquid filled capsule) is a form of Vitamin D used to reduce elevated intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients undergoing chronic renal dialysis. Hectorol is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• fever,
• pale skin,
• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• cold hands and feet,
• weight loss,
• confusion,
• chills,
• tiredness,
• chest pain,
• constipation,
• flu-like symptoms,
• pain or burning when you urinate,
• increased thirst or urination,
• warmth,
• redness,
• feeling very thirsty or hot,
• being unable to urinate,
• heavy sweating, and
• lack of energy,
• slow heartbeats,
• hot and dry skin
