Hectorol Injection (doxercalciferol injection)

Hectorol (doxercalciferol injection) is a synthetic (man-made) form of vitamin D used to reduce elevated intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients undergoing chronic renal dialysis.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• fever,
• pale skin,
• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• cold hands and feet,
• weight loss,
• confusion,
• chills,
• tiredness,
• chest pain,
• constipation,
• flu-like symptoms,
• pain or burning when you urinate,
• increased thirst or urination,
• chest discomfort,
• warmth,
• redness,
• feeling very thirsty or hot,
• heavy sweating, and
• lack of energy,
• slow heartbeats,
• inability to urinate,
• hot and dry skin
