Dopram (doxapram hydrochloride) Injection is a respiratory stimulant used to treat respiratory insufficiency due to drug overdose, surgery, or chronic pulmonary disease. Dopram is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- shortness of breath,
- chest pain,
- nausea,
- headache,
- sweating,
- hyperventilation,
- dizziness,
- apprehension,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- cough,
- itching,
- numbness and tingling,
- fever,
- muscle spasms,
- difficulty breathing,
- flushing,
- hyperactivity,
- high blood pressure (hypertension),
- difficulty urinating,
- flushing (feeling of warmth),
- burning or hot sensation,
- disorientation,
- dilated pupils,
- involuntary movements,
- hiccups,
- heart rate variations,
- irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias),
- tightness in the chest, and
- feeling the need to defecate.
