Prostin E2 (dinoprostone) Vaginal Suppository is a hormone-like substance (prostaglandin) that the body makes in preparation for labor used in a pregnant woman to relax the muscles of the cervix (opening of the uterus) in preparation for inducing labor at the end of a pregnancy.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea
  • fever
  • chills
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • back pain
  • dizziness, and
  • flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling)
  • stomach or abdominal pain
  • feeling of warmth in the vaginal area
The following drugs are related to Prostin E2, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Cervidil (dinoprostone)
  • Prepidil (dinoprostone cervical gel)
  • Mifeprex (mifepristone (ru486))
