Pennsaid (diclofenac sodium topical solution) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee(s).

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • dizziness,
  • indigestion,
  • diarrhea,
  • sore throat,
  • constipation,
  • numbness and tingling,
  • stomach pain,
  • upset stomach,
  • drowsiness,
  • stuffy nose,
  • gas,
  • urinary tract infection,
  • skin irritation (e.g., dryness, redness, stinging, itching, scaling, hives, swelling),
  • rash (non-application site),
  • bad breath, and
  • bruising.
