Focalin XR (dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride)

Focalin XR (dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride) is a mild central nervous system (CNS) stimulant used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
This drug may have the following side effects:
- lightheadedness,
- chest pain,
- numbness,
- blurred vision,
- hostility,
- trouble breathing,
- hallucinations,
- new behavioral problems,
- paranoia,
- pain,
- unexplained wounds,
- convulsions (seizures),
- cold feeling,
- skin color change (pale, red or blue appearance) in your fingers or toes,
- other visual changes, and
- penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer
