Dexilant and Dexilant SoluTabs (dexlansoprazole capsules and tablets)

Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- dizziness,
- seizure,
- swelling,
- muscle cramps,
- severe stomach pain,
- rapid weight gain,
- diarrhea that is watery or bloody,
- urinating more or less than usual,
- feeling jittery,
- cough or choking feeling,
- blood in your urine,
- joint pain, and
- sudden pain or trouble moving your hip, wrist or back,
- fast or irregular heart rate,
- tremors or jerking muscle movements,
- muscle spasm in your hands or feet,
- skin rash on your cheeks or arms that worsens in sunlight
