Iprivask (desirudin for injection)

Iprivask (desirudin for injection) is a direct inhibitor of human thrombin used to prevent deep vein thrombosis, which may lead to pulmonary embolism, in patients undergoing elective hip replacement surgery.
The drug is often used to treat Deep vein thrombosis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- easy bruising,
- lightheadedness,
- dizziness,
- back pain,
- headache,
- weakness,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- unusual bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums, heavy menstrual bleeding),
- any bleeding that will not stop,
- coughing up blood, and
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds
- loss of bladder or bowel control,
- numbness or muscle weakness in your lower body,
- pain, swelling, or drainage from a wound or where a needle was injected in your skin,
- bleeding from wounds or needle injections,
- urine that looks red, pink, or brown,
