Derma-Smoothe/FS (fluocinolone acetonide)

Derma-Smoothe FS (fluocinolone acetonide) is a topical (for the skin) steroid used to treat atopic dermatitis (a form of eczema), and is also used to treat scalp psoriasis. Derma-Smoothe FS is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Psoriasis .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• cough,
• sore throat,
• fever,
• acne,
• blisters,
• pimples,
• temporary hair loss,
• skin rash or irritation around your mouth,
• skin discoloration,
• stretch marks, 
• application site reactions (stinging, burning, irritation, dryness, itching, or redness),
  
• excessive hair growth,
• "hair bumps" (folliculitis),
• skin thinning,
• crusting of treated skin,
• runny or stuffy nose, or
• red spots or the appearance of tiny veins (especially around your nose, cheeks, or chin).
