Depakote ER (divalproex sodium) is an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer used to treat several conditions, including seizure disorders, acute manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder, and migraine headaches. Depakote is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Bipolar disorder , Migraine .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• dizziness,
• diarrhea,
• weakness,
• constipation,
• upset stomach,
• drowsiness,
• shakiness (tremor),
• ringing in the ears,
• hair loss,
• unsteadiness,
• blurred/double vision/vision changes,
• changes in menstrual periods,
• enlarged breasts,
