Denavir (penciclovir)

Denavir (penciclovir cream) is an antiviral medication used topically (on the skin) for the treatment of recurrent cold sores.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, and
  • severe skin redness, itching, rash, or pain after applying the medicine
