Delzicol (mesalamine delayed-release capsules)
type of 5-Aminosalicylic Acid Derivatives
Delzicol (mesalamine) is an aminosalicylate used to treat mildly to moderately active ulcerative colitis (UC) and to maintain remission of UC.
The drug is often used to treat Ulcerative colitis .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- upper stomach pain,
- loss of appetite,
- dark urine,
- clay-colored stools, and
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
- fever,
- skin rash,
- easy bruising,
- unusual bleeding,
- shortness of breath,
- tiredness,
- headache,
- little or no urination,
- painful or difficult urination,
- swelling in your feet or ankles,
- severe stomach pain,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood,
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
- bloody diarrhea,
- stomach cramping,
