Sprycel (dasatinib)
type of Antineoplastic Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors, Chemotherapy Modulating Agents
Sprycel (dasatinib) is a kinase inhibitor that blocks proteins that signal certain cancer cells to divide used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (resistant to prior or failed therapy) and chronic, accelerated, or myeloid or lymphoid blast phase Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with resistance or intolerance to prior therapy including imatinib.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- fever,
- easy bruising,
- pale skin,
- lightheadedness,
- shortness of breath,
- cold hands and feet,
- confusion,
- chills,
- tiredness,
- chest pain,
- fluttering in your chest,
- weakness, and
- swelling,
- headache,
- sore throat,
- skin pain,
- mouth sores,
- muscle cramps,
- rapid weight gain,
- pounding heartbeats,
- extreme tiredness,
- bloody or tarry stools,
- coughing up blood,
- vomit that looks like coffee grounds,
- pain when you breathe,
- skin sores,
- unusual bleeding (nose, mouth, vagina, or rectum),
- purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin,
- muscle or joint pain,
- burning in your eyes,
- red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
- severe ongoing nausea,
- severe headaches,
- blood in your urine,
- seizures
- problems with speech,
- flu-like symptoms,
- swelling in your feet, lower legs, or midsection,
- blue-colored lips and skin,
