Prezista (darunavir)

Prezista (darunavir) is a type of antiviral medication called a protease inhibitor used to treat HIV, which causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

The drug is often used to treat HIV .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • dark urine,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • swollen glands,
  • night sweats,
  • weight loss,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • dry mouth,
  • wheezing,
  • weakness,
  • cough,
  • sore throat,
  • burning eyes,
  • skin pain,
  • red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling,
  • increased thirst,
  • increased urination,
  • fruity breath odor,
  • menstrual changes, and
  • fast heart rate,
  • skin rash (no matter how mild),
  • cold sores,
  • trouble speaking or swallowing,
  • problems with balance or eye movement,
  • swelling in your neck or throat (enlarged thyroid),
  • impotence
  • prickly feeling,
  • upper stomach pain (that may spread to your back),
