Procysbi (cysteamine bitartrate delayed-release capsules)

Procysbi (cysteamine bitartrate) is a cystine depleting agent used to treat a rare genetic condition called nephropathic cystinosis in patients over the age of six years old.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • nausea,
  • dizziness,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • fever,
  • rash,
  • fatigue,
  • decreased appetite,
  • headaches,
  • abdominal pain/discomfort,
  • bad breath odor,
  • skin odor,
  • lethargy, and
  • hives.
The following drugs are related to Procysbi, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Cystadrops (cysteamine ophthalmic solution)
  • Indocin (indomethacin)
  • Indocin IV (indomethacin inj)
  • Indocin Oral Suspension (indomethacin oral suspension)
