Sandimmune (cyclosporine)

Sandimmune (cyclosporine) is a cyclic polypeptide immunosuppressant agent used to prevent organ rejection after a kidney, liver, or heart transplant. Sandimmune is also used to treat severe psoriasis or severe rheumatoid arthritis. Sandimmune is available in generic form.

The drug is often used to treat Psoriasis .

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • nausea,
  • loss of appetite,
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • unusual bleeding,
  • pale skin,
  • shortness of breath,
  • chills,
  • tiredness,
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • chest pain,
  • seizure,
  • severe headache,
  • blurred vision,
  • pounding in your neck or ears,
  • cough
  • weakness,
  • flu symptoms,
  • little or no urination,
  • stomach pain (upper right side),
  • mouth sores,
  • swelling in your feet or ankles,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • skin sores,
  • tingly feeling,
  • loss of movement,
  • sore throat, and
  • problems with speech, thought, vision, or muscle movement,
