Cotempla XR-ODT (methylphenidate extended-release orally disintegrating tablets) is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in pediatric patients 6 to 17 years of age.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • itching,
  • rash,
  • shortness of breath,
  • confusion,
  • chest pain,
  • seizure,
  • blurred vision,
  • fainting,
  • agitation,
  • mood changes,
  • aggression,
  • unusual wounds on the fingers or toes,
  • abnormal thoughts,
  • thoughts of suicide,
  • unusual sweating,
  • weakness on one side of the body,
  • severe dizziness, and
  • trouble breathing
  • vision changes,
  • trouble speaking,
  • mood swings,
  • uncontrolled muscle movements,
  • coldness in the fingers or toes,
  • numbness or pain in the fingers or toes,
  • skin color changes in the fingers or toes,
  • fast, pounding or irregular heartbeats,v
  • sudden outbursts of words or sounds,
  • jaw or left arm pain,
  • painful or prolonged penis erection lasting over 4 hours,
  • swelling of the face, tongue, or throat,
