Corlopam (fenoldopam mesylate injection)

Corlopam (fenoldopam mesylate) Injection is a dopamine receptor agonist (vasodilator) used for in-hospital, short-term (up to 48 hours) management of severe high blood pressure (hypertension) when rapid, but quickly reversible, emergency reduction of blood pressure is indicated. Corlopam is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • lightheadedness,
  • shortness of breath,
  • fast heartbeats,
  • fluttering in your chest,
  • severe headache,
  • pounding in your neck or ears,
  • constipation,
  • swelling,
  • rapid weight gain,
  • irregular heartbeats,
  • vision changes,
  • increased thirst or urination,
  • leg cramps,
  • numbness or tingling,
  • muscle weakness, and
  • limp feeling
