Cognex (tacrine)

Cognex (tacrine hydrochloride) is a reversible cholinesterase inhibitor used to treat patients with Alzheimer's disease or mild to moderate dementia. Cognex is discontinued in the U.S., but generic versions may be available.

The drug is often used to treat Dementia .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• skin rash,
• weight loss,
• dizziness,
• cough,
• agitation,
• runny nose,
• depression,
• shaking,
• weakness, or
• tiredness,
• drowsiness,
• urinating more than usual,
• increased sweating,
• stomach upset,
• Lack of coordination
• joint or muscle pain,
• fever or chills,
