Tuzistra XR (codeine polistirex and chlorpheniramine polistirex) extended-release oral suspension is a combination of an opiate agonist antitussive and a histamine-1 (H1) receptor antagonist indicated for relief of cough and symptoms associated with upper respiratory allergies or a common cold.

The drug is often used to treat Common cold .

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• nausea,
• loss of appetite,
• vomiting,
• fever,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• severe drowsiness,
• tiredness,
• diarrhea
• sweating,
• weakness,
• noisy breathing,
• agitation,
• shivering,
• shallow breathing,
• hallucinations,
• twitching,
• fast heart rate,
• blue colored lips,
• difficulty to wake up,
• muscle stiffness,
• loss of coordination, and
• severe constipation,
• slow breathing with long pauses,
• sighing,
• breathing that stops during sleep,
• severe dizziness,
