Phenergan-Codeine (codeine phosphate and promethazine hcl)

Phenergan-Codeine (codeine and promethazine) is a combination of a narcotic that acts a pain reliever and a cough suppressant, and an antihistamine, used to treat cold or allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and cough. The brand name Phenergan-Codeine is no longer available in the U.S. Generic versions may be available.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- vomiting,
- lightheadedness,
- confusion,
- dizziness,
- seizure,
- diarrhea
- sweating,
- noisy breathing,
- agitation,
- shivering,
- shallow breathing,
- very stiff (rigid) muscles,
- high fever,
- fast or uneven heartbeats,
- hallucinations,
- fast heart rate,
- tremors,
- blue colored lips,
- extreme drowsiness,
- loss of coordination, and
- slow breathing with long pauses,
- difficult to wake up,
- sighing,
- worsening tiredness or weakness,
- feeling weak or limp,
- uncontrolled muscle movements in your face, neck, arms, or legs,
