Clovique (trientine hydrochloride capsules)

Clovique (trientine hydrochloride capsules) is a chelating compound used to treat patients with Wilson's disease who are intolerant of penicillamine.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • iron deficiency,
  • systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),
  • involuntary muscle contractions,
  • muscle spasm, and
  • myasthenia gravis
The following drugs are related to Clovique, either as a replacement or used together:
  • Chemet (succimer)
  • Cuprimine (penicillamine)
  • Exjade (deferasirox)
  • Depen (penicillamine titratable tablets)
  • Galzin (galzin zinc acetate capsules)
  • Syprine (trientine)
