Plavix (clopidogrel bisulfate)

Plavix (clopidogrel bisulfate) is a thienopyridine class of drug that inhibits platelet aggregation and thus inhibits aspects of blood clotting used to treat patients with acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction (MI), peripheral vascular disease and some stroke (ischemic type) patients. Plavix is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • fever,
  • easy bruising,
  • pale skin,
  • shortness of breath,
  • fast heartbeats,
  • problems with vision or speech
  • headache,
  • weakness,
  • little or no urination,
  • feeling tired,
  • sudden numbness or weakness,
  • confusion, and
  • seizure (convulsions),
  • yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice),
  • purple spots under your skin or in your mouth,
