Cleocin (clindamycin)

Clindam (clindamycin) is an antibiotic used to treat serious infections caused by bacteria. Clindamycin is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- hives,
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- diarrhea,
- stomach pain,
- joint pain,
- low blood pressure (hypotension),
- heartburn,
- hypersensitivity,
- fungal overgrowth,
- pseudomembranous colitis,
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome,
- blood clot,
- granulocytopenia,
- low white blood cell count (neutropenia),
- low platelet count (thrombocytopenia),
- polyarthritis,
- kidney dysfunction,
- vaginal itching or discharge,
- skin rash or itching,
- sore throat, or
- changes in bowel habits (especially in older adults).
