Clariscan (gadoterate meglumine injection)

Clariscan (gadoterate meglumine injection) is a gadolinium-based contrast agent indicated for intravenous use with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in brain (intracranial), spine and associated tissues in adult and pediatric patients to detect and visualize areas with disruption of the blood brain barrier (BBB) and/or abnormal vascularity.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• little or no urination,
• muscle weakness,
• painful or difficult urination,
• swelling in your feet or ankles,
• shortness of breath
• tiredness, and
• burning, itching, swelling, scaling, and tightening or hardening of your skin,
• joint stiffness in your arms, hands, legs, or feet,
• trouble moving,
• skin redness or discoloration,
• deep bone pain in your ribs or hips,
