Loprox Gel (ciclopirox gel)

Loprox Gel (ciclopirox) is an antifungal medication used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections. Loprox shampoo is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (inflammatory skin condition) of the scalp, and the topical nail lacquer is used to treat fungal infections of the toenails and fingernails. Loprox Gel is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• rash,
• hair loss,
• dry skin,
• acne,
• eye pain, and
• application site reactions (burning, stinging, redness, itching, pain),
• facial swelling

• Ecoza (econazole nitrate topical foam, 1%)
• Ertaczo (sertaconazole nitrate)
• Luzu (luliconazole cream, 1%)
