Ciclodan (ciclopirox topical solution)

Ciclodan [ciclopirox topical solution, 8% (nail lacquer)], an antifungal agent that is a component of a comprehensive management program, is indicated as topical treatment in immunocompetent patients with mild to moderate onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails without lunula involvement, due to Trichophyton rubrum.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• redness around or under the nail,
• nail disorders (such as shape change, irritation, ingrown toenail, and discoloration),
  
• application site reactions, and
• burning of the skin.

The following drugs are related to Ciclodan, either as a replacement or used together:

• Accutane (isotretinoin)
• Differin Cream (adapalene cream)
• Differin Lotion .1 (adapalene lotion .1%)
• Atralin (tretinoin)
• Azelex (azelaic acid cream)
• BenzaClin (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide)
• Onexton (cindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide gel, 1.2%/3.75)
• Tavaborole (tavaborole)
