Questran Light (cholestyramine, light for oral suspension)
type of Bile Acid Sequestrants
Cholestyramine light (cholestyramine powder, for suspension) is a cholesterol-lowering agent used as adjunctive therapy to diet for the reduction of elevated serum cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (elevated low-density lipoprotein [LDL] cholesterol) who do not respond adequately to diet. Cholestyramine light is also indicated for the relief of itching associated with partial biliary obstruction.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- severe dizziness
- rash,
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- easy bruising,
- severe stomach pain,
- confusion,
- unusual bleeding,
- itching, and
- rapid breathing,
