Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate 0.12%) Oral Rinse is an antimicrobial rinse used along with tooth brushing and flossing as part of a program to treat gingivitis. Peridex is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • dry mouth,
  • unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth,
  • tooth/tongue staining,
  • increased tartar,
  • mouth/throat irritation,
  • decreased taste sensation,
  • tongue swelling,
  • gingivitis, or
  • mouth sores.

  • Articadent (articaine hcl and epinephrine injection)
  • Periochip (chlorhexidine chip for insertion into periodontal pockets)
