Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate 0.12%) Oral Rinse is an antimicrobial rinse used along with tooth brushing and flossing as part of a program to treat gingivitis. Peridex is available in generic form.
This drug may have the following side effects:
- dry mouth,
- unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth,
- tooth/tongue staining,
- increased tartar,
- mouth/throat irritation,
- decreased taste sensation,
- tongue swelling,
- gingivitis, or
- mouth sores.
