Chenodal (chenodiol tablets)

Chenodal (chenodeoxycholic acid) is a naturally occurring human bile acid indicated for patients with radiolucent stones in well-opacifying gallbladders, in whom selective surgery would be undertaken except for the presence of increased surgical risk due to systemic disease or age.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• dark urine,
• itching
• severe stomach pain,
• yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice),
• unusual or extreme tiredness,
• persistent nausea,
• persistent vomiting, and

• Urso (ursodiol)
