Zykadia (ceritinib hard-gelatin capsules)

Zykadia (ceritinib) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have progressed on or are intolerant to crizotinib.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• itching,
• weight loss,
• nausea,
• headache,
• dizziness,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• cough,
• constipation,
• numbness and tingling,
• slow heart rate,
• fever,
• rash,
• back pain,
• fatigue,
• abdominal pain,
• muscle weakness, 
• decreased appetite,
• pain in extremities,
• musculoskeletal pain,
• vision problems, and
• increased liver enzymes,
• non-cardiac chest pain,
• decreased hemoglobin,
• increase in blood creatinine,
• heart rhythm disorder, and
• inflammation of the sac around the heart (pericarditis).
