Cerebyx (fosphenytoin sodium injection)

Cerebyx (fosphenytoin sodium) Injection is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant, used to prevent or control seizures. Cerebyx is used only for a short time, such as 5 days, when other forms of phenytoin cannot be given.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• hives,
• difficulty breathing,
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
• fever,
• swollen glands,
• skin rash,
• easy bruising,
• unusual bleeding,
• lightheadedness,
• shortness of breath,
• confusion,
• chills,
• fluttering in your chest,
• constipation,
• muscle aches,
• flu-like symptoms,
• trouble swallowing,
• sore throat,
• skin pain,
• ill feeling,
• mouth sores,
• irregular heartbeats,
• unusual thoughts or behavior,
• increased thirst or urination,
• sudden weakness,
• burning in your eyes,
• severe weakness,
• unusual bruising,
• red or swollen gums,
• red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling,
• leg cramps,
• very slow heartbeats,
• yellowing of your skin or eyes,
• tingling or burning sensation,
• purple discoloration of your skin around the IV needle,
• numbness or tingling, and
• muscle weakness or limp feeling

• Onfi (clobazam tablets and oral suspension)
• Tranxene (clorazepate)
• Elepsia XR (levetiracetam extended-release tablets)
• Peganone (ethotoin)
• Felbatol (felbamate)
• Nymalize (nimodipine oral solution)
• Trokendi XR (topiramate extended-release capsules)
