Centany (mupirocin) ointment is an antibacterial drug used for the topical (on the skin) treatment of impetigo due to
Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.
The drug is often used to treat Impetigo .
This drug may have the following side effects:
- itching,
- skin rash,
- application site reactions,
- infected hair follicles (abscesses/boils),
- peeling or shedding of skin,
- eye and nose irritation,
- Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
