Celexa (citalopram hydrobromide)

Celexa (citalopram hydrobromide) is a type of antidepressant called a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) indicated for the treatment of depression. Celexa is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:

• nausea,
• vomiting,
• diarrhea,
• lightheadedness,
• confusion,
• blurred vision,
• headache,
• fainting,
• sweating,
• agitation,
• slurred speech,
• very stiff (rigid) muscles,
• hallucinations,
• tremors,
• eye pain or swelling,
• tunnel vision,
• seeing halos around lights,
• loss of coordination,
• feeling unsteady
• fast or pounding heartbeat,
• severe weakness, and
• headache with chest pain and severe dizziness,
