Fortaz (ceftazidime injection) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat many kinds of bacterial infections, including severe or life-threatening forms. Fortaz is available in generic form.

This drug may have the following side effects:
  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
  • confusion,
  • severe stomach pain,
  • diarrhea that is watery or bloody,
  • problems with speech or memory,
  • seizures, and
  • cold feeling, discoloration, or skin changes in your fingers
